Such transportation is carried out in several ways: from warehouse to customer's door, from warehouse to warehouse or door to door. Most customers prefer the latter option: the address from which it is necessary to pick up the cargo and the geodata of its final point of arrival are indicated. The ordering party is the sender, recipient or third party. The same rules apply to payment for transport services.
Often, when calculating the cost of transportation, logistics companies are guided by volumetric weight (1 cubic meter is equal to 500 kg). Oversized goods have individual rates. It is important to know that when international
transportation of groupage cargo is not on a turnkey basis, its owner will need to immediately discuss all additional services (packaging material, loading and unloading, etc.). If you ignore this moment, then by the time of his arrival, you can receive an invoice that significantly exceeds the estimated amount.
Delivery to the destination is the responsibility of both the customer and the customer service, logistics company. In the first case, these are:
- Consistency of packing data with factual information. Packaging must ensure the integrity and safety of the transported goods.
- Availability of certificates for goods requiring certification.
- Providing truthful product data.
- The presence of proper packaging (by your own efforts or with the help of the contractor).
The company providing the transport service, in turn, is responsible for:
- Fulfillment of deadlines for invoicing and preparation of an act of work done.
- Compensation for damage caused in case of loss or damage to goods (if this happened through the fault of the contractor). The amount of the payment should not exceed the declared value of the cargo.
- Timely notification of the client about changes in tariffs.
